I've been modelling stuff, and characters so far, now its tiem to model some scenaries and buildings, but i would like if anyone can give me some tips before starting. I'll be modelling a highly detailed inn, so i think i should first start with the floor and the with the walls, or the other way round?...

Thanks in advance...

Start the interior and build around it, I'd say, never done interior before, but thats how I would approach it

That would make sense, but since you said a highly detailed inn, then maybe you should make the floor, then the objects you want to be on that particular floor, and build up, then build walls around what you have done. The walls should probably be the last major thing that you model, because if you work inside the walls, then your choices would be mch more limited (I.e. you could run out of space, have to remove a wall and then redo it).

If you stand not beside me, then I assume you to be my enemy.

true, would be a complete pain in the but, if you're going to add a loft/attic still build upwards, make the floor with the ladder going down, add the items, then the beams of wood, then the roof, then the down stairs walls (you can even add the walls after making the floor )

and if it's a true blue inn, you'd want a couple extra floors of rooms for sure

Well, the inn is coming fine so on. Now im doing a little prog to look it in DbPro. I've been dealing with this problem. The GET IMAGE HEIGHT(,,) gets the heigth at a certain x and z tile in a matrix, but i want to do so with my object (inn). Don't know if there is a command that helps me on this, or a way of doing so, but i've came up with a pretty neat idea wich is using a heigh map. Pretty much like a map of the world(or wherever) one buys at a library, wich is composed of colors representing height on it, id use the same idea here, and specify a color to show what are walls and all, that way i avoid usig collition commands, howevere i'm not sure if this is efficient or whatever...(efficient meaning that the pc wont freeze or run slow).

What you guys think?

Almost done with the inn, but something weird happends when i textured the object and loaded it in DbPro, as if the textures changed smothly as i aproached the inn .
