I\'ve been looking for ages and I\'ve finally found a program that lets you animate your models in DirectX (.x) free.

okay it\'s a weird japanease program but it comes in english.

You\'ll need this program to convert 3DS and OBJ and stuff into the native (weird japanease) format.

how well does it work?

I have milkshape but it is very cumbersome to create animations though with some patients it does get the job done...

I downloaded the meta modeller but it won't load any of my 3ds files so ack on this whole process....

the top download for the Metaseq thingy is the best it says shareware but the only limitation is that you can only save it as .mqo files.
which is what you need. the freeware versions don't seem to load stuff properly. sorry for not telling
