Also admitting that you have an "illegal" version of dark basic on the >>officicial<< web site is rreeealllllyyy a bad idea, don't really expect any help from people here.....

Its not that bad man, he got it from a friend. Its better than pirating it from kazaa IMHO. Hey- you have no probs from me.

Id suggets reading all of the online tutorials that you can, and possibly getting the Dark Basic book from amazon.com. Id also suggest asking your friend for help if you run into any (does he have a forum name?) and working together on any projects, so you can have hands on teamwork.

Im on the instant messengers below this post, so catch me online if you need help. Since the MSN button doesnt work, my msn email is TheBedroomProgrammer@hotmail.com

Good luck with DB!

I say to think your messages carefully over. When you do post, sound pro. When making a "pro" site for a game company, almost never say I or anything like that. It helps alot .

he has a point... he never said he pirated, simply that he got it off a friend.

He never said what version it was, whether it was full or trial - if he bought it, borrowed it or is just using it.
I mean remember everything except DarkBasic Standard requires the CD to be used.

well that said this isn't the forum for being a newbie... i'd try the one market "newbie forum"

Im not agenst copyin eany programs and games!
Who cears! You know, Bill Gats! There was a tai company that copyed 95,98,NT,Win 2000,XP Home and Xp. Some found out and told the rumor and Bill Gates just ignored it.

And you know why he ignored it, Caus then almost everyone will then use the Win system!

And it is not a crime to get a copyed game or prog from a friend. You have me on your side!

As long as people aren't doing any illegal stuff in here like asking for serials or cracks...

Can't believe some can be aware of them and not even knowing where to find...It's like willing to rob a house and not knowing where it is.

It does not bug me, but if he where online when i want to play onloine that bugs me. But it is rare i play online! LOL!

@Siege Delux: Don't know how that story 'bout Bill Gates relates to pirating software. And, it IS illegal, and therefore a crime, to copy a friends game/program. Always has been, always will be...well as long as it isn't a demo/freeware/GNU/GPL/you-get-the-idea game/program.

Anyway, this topic has steered WAY of course. I apologise to frosty13, shouldn't have assumed that he copied the full version of db/dbpro from his friend.

@Frosty13: The best way to learn is reading the tutorial and help files that some with db/dbpro (don't know which one you are using). I also suggest posting you questions in the 'newcomer' forum on this board, this one is for more 'advanced' stuff...
