i'm not sure how that would return FPS, seems its more return the number of loops performed per second ...
which isn't quite the same no?

Well, you've confused me!

If your loop runs 50 times per second, and you display a new frame each loop, isn't that 50 frames per second?

thats whats confusing me too... as even DarkBasic Standard will run at >60 loops per second

by setting sync rate 60, it still performs at 60+ LPS - but the sync doesn't have to be performed each loop ... so like therefor the renders arn't done.

i mean just by adding

you'll be running 2 LPS per FPS
so really that would make his FPS useless - as i'm pretty sure there are similar ways to do that in blitz

Rich: I see in your code that you colour the cubes, unfortunately (and I have no reason why) all I get is white cubes on the obligatory DB Blue background

the main difference now might be that in Blitz you can get instant automatic sliding collision at no frame rate cost or close...
anyway, at this point , from patch 4 onwards DBP seems really on a quantum leap..
good good...

Edz - which version of DB did you test it on? The cubes appear coloured for me (depending on your location in the grid) on Patch4 and 3.1, didn't test it on DBC though.

Cheers,

Rich

COLOR OBJECT doesn't work under Patch 3.1 for me, although it does seem to work on Patch 4. Yet another of those 3D engine bugs which are at last being addressed

@Raven

The reason that if you set the SYNC RATE 60 you sometimes get higher framerates is presumably because that DBP doesn't calculate the delay on the sync command (to get the frame rate down) absolutely correctly so on very fast computers you can sometimes get about 10 FPS higher than the SYNC RATE you specified.

lol, I would have to work for 3 days at my Dad's office (physical labour on the floor, and I wouldn't even get to operate the laser cutters, just carry stuff around while he sit's in a nice cushy office ) to get DBDN. OR I can get my act together and finish that damn website for EESCO and the PeaGuy Game for Astral-Entertainment... *sigh*

As for Darth Shader, the reason for his comments are either:
-He is in DBDN and thinks the contract means he cannot even admit to it's existance.
-He isn't in DBDN and is just jealous
