Most, if not all of the products offered by The Game Creators can work in multiple engines/programming languages, yet the announcements forum is denoted specifically for games/apps made with DB/DBP? I understand that this is a community comprised largely by DB/DBP users, however I feel that all programs made with anything that use TGC content should have the opportunity to be displayed here. I mean, the point of the forum is to strut TGP's stuff and that made by it's users, right? Why not broaden the range of acceptable programs and help some more people get some exposure. Sorry for the rant, it just seems a little unfair. Thanks for listening.

So we should feature games written in say C++ just because they use a model from DarkMATTER, or a map made in Cartography Shop?

I can see the benefit as far as the products themselves are concerned, but I think it would dilute things a little here in the forum, where the majority of people do actually use DB/DBP/DGDK.

The exception to the rule ought to be Play Basic and Omega Basic, but both have their own forums for this.

Fat kids always win at see-saw.

The world is full of idiots. But an unusually high percentage seem to appear on my TV screen.

I understand that, but these forums are for all products made by TGC. If you only want to highlight games written in DB/DBP, then IMO, you should create two forums, one for DB/DBP games and one for all others. It will strengthen your user base. You make great programs, but a C++ programmer feels kind of like the kid on the playground who always gets picked last, tolerated but no one really wants him there. Also it would make for more involved and active community as you have that many more people contributing their ideas, help, and wisdom. I am not trying to tell you how to run things. Just think y'all shouldn't seem so elitist. I am not saying you are, just that it definitely could come off that way. Anyway, I am done.

Its a bit unfair to use the more basic products and have them displayed here as it undermines the work that goes into getting something here written in DBPro. If this was flooded with FPSC games, then the games that had a lot of effort put into them (DB/DBPro games) will get shadowed by the masses.

EDIT: why does it say there are 4 posts in the thread list, but in fact there are only 3!?!

EDIT: nvm, probably a post being approved after this one

Simple... yet fun!

FPSC, 3DGM and others like it are quite the exception as they require little to no effort to make a game. But aside from that, it really doesn't matter what you use to make your game. The point is, making games is tough and all should be credited for their efforts.

i dunno... you make a good point robo cat... and in general, i'm in agreement with what you say...

right now a lot of the fpsc stuff is cookie cutter stuff, and if you've seen one, you've basically seen em all...

... but soon now, as the ins and outs of fpsc are learned, someone is gonna rise above the bar with something that is gonna rock everyones world... and i kinda think that that might be entitled to be presented here.

i've already seen one verrrry imaginative fpsc project that goes outside the box, and should be afforded the opportunity for exposure...

anyways, just a thought...

Errr, You know U235 that there are other forums out there for C++ stuff, in fact there's a ton of them - this is a DBPro forum primarily, FPSC is written in DBPro, and the sibling languages that are supported are in their own little sections. C++ coders use their own forums and often have a weird attitude towards DBPro because it's BASIC.
