Jus' change them strings and put them in an array and save it. then yu can load it back in and no one else can open and edit it.

dim stats$(2)
stats$(1)=""
stats$(2)=""
save array "test",stats$(2)

you get the idea...

if you mean global variables you must put the arrays before anything else in your code like this :
dim somearray(4)
#indclude somefile.dba
rem - your code goes here -
end
now, making to where the exe runs on boot up is somewhat easy to do-
after you make your final exe file, put it in a folder and create a shortcut to it. then right click on the the shortcut once, and left click on cut. next , right click on the start menu once and click explore on the menu. then expand the programs folder by clicking the + sign. after this click on the folder that is named "startup" . then paste the shortcut in that folder by using either the edit menu, or by right clicking again on the right side of the screen where the startup folder is open. this will effectivly cause the program to run on EVERY bootup.
cheers
