Due to a few individuals that take too much for granted, and have instructed users on the security that FPSPack applies, I have decided to pull FPSPack from downloads until I decide to further its progress. Many can thank Merranvo on his behalf to stop the release of this useful product.

Time and efforts are needed elsewhere. Thanks to the many users who have supported FPSPack. I have received many emails to make the download available, but this will not happen at this time. As a warning to others, the agreement states that FPSPack can not be made publicly available for download or transmitted in anyform. Please do not ask permission to host the latest version of FPSPack. The answer is no, and hosting it for download purposes is illegal unless consent is given."

That's a shame, fpspack was the first full, professional utility created for fpsc but, I understand why you are un-releasing it. The post you are referring to reminds me of a crack site and I'm surprised the mods allowed this to happen.

Yes I agree, you should have been contacted privately so maybe you could have fixed the security problem, rather than letting the cat out of the bag on a public forum.

I will be making FPSPack available again later this week, as long as posts to circumvent its security are not made.

Otherwise I will remove it for good. I am trying to give the community something useful. Not exactly 100% protection, but a major improvement over none at all. If 'unamed' would simply put as much into projects rather than reckless abuse, these forums would be a better place to work and play.

Thank you for your work RastaMan.

It is obviously your decision, but I think FPSPack is more than just security and it adds more than that. For that reason only, I would love to know that you will not consider any kind of negative insight regarding that useful piece of software.

See you around.

Though it's repeating what they've said, your program is an invaluable tool for the release of FPSC based games.

Sure, I have no problem with suggestions, comments, or 'constructive criticism'. I only helps make the program better. But when you lay out the exact security involved for all to see, it defeats the purpose of its use.

Thanks for the other comments.

Isn't Merranvo banned now?, I'll check on that but I'm sure Rich kicked his ass.

[EDIT] Yup, he got nuked, disregard the little git, we've got his number now.

Anyhoo, keep it up Rasta - it's folk like you that'll make FPSC's forum a better place, not Merranvo.

I thought I noticed someone missing. Rasta, keep up the good work. FPSPack is a brilliant program that makes distributing an FPS made with FPSC incredily easy. Not only does your program prevent the user from editing the files themselves, it also makes the system compact.

Keep up the great work, Rasta. The members of the FPSC community are in your debt.

The hard work and generous help given freely to the community by RastaMan and others is much appreciated I am sure by all, certainly by me.

Those who would openly reveal software secrets or otherwise sabotage software development when obviously to do so would be detrimental to the product and users of it, do an injustice to others and we can do without that at these forums.

It also does nothing particularly with reference to RastaMans product to encourage more users to join the community and make more games which has been a topic of concern here recently - it does the opposite and tends to discourage the growth of the community.

Its nice to see that quite recently the forum and its posts seem to have taken on the look of a more professional game engine forum with content you can actually read.

Thanks for the re-introduction RastaMan - we all look forward to it and hope you will continue your much needed support for FPSC and the community here.

Good Man.

Thanks RastaMan for not pulling the plug out of FPSPack definitely. It's a very valuable tool for many of us.... please don't let that be spoiled by just a few troublemakers.

Van-B, that's the best news I've seen on this forum today, I do really hope he and that other guy (Conjured Entertainment) never come back again, unless they behave.

FPSC is way to cool, you can create even more then a fps with it!

All that from banning just one person...imagine that. I don't exactly know what you have created Rastaman, but thanks for helping the community

I never said I hated him, I just stated that I thought someone was missing. Merranvo, to the best of my knowledge, was an adept scripter that released things such as the Jetpack script.

I think he spammed a helluva lot one night, you won't see those posts because they'll have been deleted - it's his own doing at the end of the day.

I know Conjured Entertainemtn did that, but Merranvo?
(I was one of Conjured's targets, so I remember that night very well)

Oh well, I'm off-topic--I'll be quiet now.

I never disliked or hated Merranvo either nor said so just let me reiterate - Personally I dislike personal attacks mostly. He did go rather over the top in the way he handled himself with RastaMans product however - thats all I saw - guess I missed something.

Update, I have spent the last few hours working on the keygen option for the ability to produce an 'Unlockable' game. Its going well. Still buggy at the moment.

Hope to have a new release by the weekend. And again, thanks for the kind words and support. It gave me the motivation to put lots of effort in the next release.

yes i did...

it seems like you again proceed to comment on things that are right in front of your eyes, but, for some reason or the other, you just can't seem to see them...

lemme help you out a lil...

Quote: "Rich... have ya taken the time to look at the contents in the profile of the one who calls himself Merranvo... it makes the Colombine kids look like girl scouts...

this one is an incident waiting to happen...
"

if you care to refresh your memory, take a look at this thread...
http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=64052&b=1

do ya seeEvil Stick...the warning was indeed made...

from now on, you might consider not commenting on things when you obviously don't know what you are talking about... and waiting until you are more informed...

now that we got that straight, can we move on, and not divert the interest in the work that the guy who started this thread... thank you very much...

Dudes, Conjured and Merranvo were one in the same I think.

Rich has all sorts of cool mod tools to check this stuff, you'd be surprised at how often people post through more than one persona.

That happens when people want a little bit of attention for themselves, like they're trying to do good and some idiot tries to make them look bad, then the forum sympathises with them and they're happy happy happy again.

It's kinda sad, people should know that we can tell when they post under multiple users - we usually don't act on it to save them from embarassment.

Red October, You didn't warn us, you just said that an accident was waiting to happen, all I've seen you do in the FPSC board is flame, say stuff isn't good when you can't do ANYTHING, and just do rude stuff.

well dear boy... if that aint a warning, i dunno what is...

Quote: "all I've seen you do in the FPSC board is flame,"

you are wrong... all you gotta do is open your eyes and look around the forum... and i really aint gonna waste any more time quoting old threads to show you just how off base you are.

i've already shown that the statements you make are not based on fact, extrapolation of fact, or even anything approaching fact...

hey... reality bites sometimes kid... grow up, deal with it...
