How to know if your program is finished
I noticed there is nothing here on how to know if your program is finished. So i thought i would make one So basiclly How is your game ready to be released well you need all of the following

1. Not beta
2. As little bugs as possible e.g you walk through walls when hit is a bug unless your player is a ghost
3.Is it really finished? What could you add
4. Question your self e.g Can my textures be better or Can my models be better
5.What does your game catergory fit in to? People like to know what it's about
6.Do you have screens (You should if it's a release )
If not goto http://www.photobucket.com or something like that
7.CONTROLS!!!!
Games that are not ready to be a released version
1.Matrix and landscape only (Demos should be in wip)
2.What is it an rpg mmorpg? class it before you make it
3. CODE SNIPPETS!!!!! Put them in the code base if they need no media
Also None tgc products like C++ or 2d gamemaker should go in programming talk
Keep all this in mind before you post

loller, top tips from a true n00b. stop posting pointless drivel dbmad. we know when our games are ready because they feel ready you twonk. when you finally finish a game yourself you'll know when it's ready. but seeing as you have not finishd a decent game yet I don't think your comments are appropriate. and STOP SPAMMING THE FORUM WITH CRAP THREADS FFS.

i'm bothered because you are posting poinless rubbish in a place that i love. I do my best for this community and do all i can to support it's users with free stuff, I could just have easily attempted to get a sticky like you are trying too, but i don't think anyone needs to know when YOU think their game is ready. this is a program announcements board. where is your program???????????. oh you don't have one..... theres a shock!!!!111oneoneone.

6.Do you have a forum (You should if it's one with a decent community)
If not goto http://www.forum.thegamecreators.com or something like that and look for DBMAD posts
7.SPAM AND CAPS!!!!

1.Caps and insults only (Demos should be in 1337)
2.What is it an flame/rant? class it before you make it
3. QUOTES!!!!! Put them in the quote font if they need no quotes
Also pointless posts should go in a hall of pointless posts cus theyre pointless and like.

answers for your tips:
1) why it cant be a beta? it CAN be demo/beta or whatever
2) the bugs the guys should notice as "known bugs" and to find the bugs, the guy should post that game on a WIP post to test/fix all the bugs
3) there is always something new to add. so there is no project that can be fully finished..
4) stupid question - no answer.
5) well thats a fine rule.. i agree with that one.
6) fine tip.. i can live with that.. =]
7) yeah, better to put a game controls and game storyline into a thread...

ahhh, my favourite audio icon. thanks hawkeye for bringing sunshine to my otherwise 'wrong side of par day' now all i need to see is a DBP icon and a TrueSpace icon and my day will be complete

You want a sticky like the rest of us. Cmon, don't make up crap to get a sticky. Do something impressive, like Rich on the Game Design Theory:
