you know that "fpsc character studio" zip from the fpscreator.com site that has the biped and .fig files in it... is it possible to edit the existing animations? I grabbed it a while back and had a little play, and thought "whoa cool. I can use this and tweak it to how i need it". I then passed the news onto a mate who recently bought FPSC and he reackons that you cannot edit the existing animations, just add new ones. This is a guy who has several years experience in 3d modeling, texturing and animation (has done several TV commericals, has max 7).

The website says "You need Character Studio in order to use these files, but using them will allow you to animate any model into a format suitable for FPSC (and to modify the existing animation data)." I'm thinking that he recently bought max 7 and one of its "new features" has tricked him. Perhaps you need to click edit figure or something *shrugs*. Maybes he's right, I would assume he is but it just seems weird that a great team like TGC would release something like this and not allow you to totally modify it. Maybe's thats why it was free, seemed to good to be true

Either way, its still heaps handy and it made my day

You can add/remove/edit any of the animations once you've applied the bip file to a character as you can with any 3ds Max animation. Its not easy for the casual game creator though, you need a fair understanding of Character Studio and how it saves keyframes.

Just remember to change the FPSC script for the character.

I think thats where most people will screw up, not changing the script.
