This is the second version of a game i made for the puzzle compo a while back. Some of you may remember it, the main problem with it was it started out too hard. So i've added 16 levels to the beginning, to smooth out the learning curve. just to make the number of levels go to 75 i've added 9 other levels throughout the game. (and many other features... such as sound )

And finally the screen shots (this game isn't a very graphical game though, because it's all in the gameplay...)

Menu-

Fifteen Four Square-

Gauntlet-

True or False- (it's a big level, this is only part of it of course)

Choices-

Download:
you have two options... a version with all 13 background songs, or a version with only 2 songs. (for you 56kers )

lite version (2 songs):
.RAR 13.9 MBs

.Zip 20.9 MBs

full version (13 songs):
.RAR 30.2 MBs

.Zip 37.2 MBs

Here's a full list of changes from the first version (just in case you were wondering)

btw if you played the beta (in WIP), the levels i just added today are levels 21, 26, 31, 36, 41, 46, 51, 56, and 61...

Have fun!

Download this people. If for no other reason, then as a birthday present for him. It's a real cool game!

Downloading now!!

Edit: Exelent job. Puzzels are good, and there are tons of them (wish I had half as many puzzle for my game...)!! New music & sound effects are great, Did I mention the puzzels are awesome??
If you make a sequel to this, it should have a simmilar graphic style, but be 3d and somehow use 3d aspects in the puzzle (like each level being a different floor of the dungeon, and elevators instead of doors). Great job.

Hi,

Wow! That was well worth the download. I liked the music and the puzzles are great. Those helpful hints at the beginning of each level are good. They make figuring out the strategy much easier.

Good job

This game rocks! Just because it isn't a fps or shoot 'em up doesn't mean it isn't worth downloading and playing. You will be pleasantly surprised how addictive it gets.

Well done!

they also have two other games of mine on there... one which i'm glad they have there (Burnt Soil) and one which i wish wasn't there (ThunderDeathWarrior )

downloading now, i'll review it after i've played it then edit the post

Well thats if i have time before i head out tonight...

--={Edit}=--
Decent game very addictive, only things i'd change is animating the character when moving. That sorta includes when holding down a key, like up the character keeps going up.

Enjoyable game non the less, i'll probably play it later on, try and complete it

Any endings before i'm brutally dissapointed for all my effort to complete the game?

thanks!

nope, only the satisfaction of knowing you beat it

so don't get too obsessed trying to beat it... (the only difference between level 75 and the other levels is instead of "good job!" you get some different text)

Although, i would be extremely impressed if you beat all 75 levels... i myself haven't even done that! (i didn't make all the levels)

Out of curiosity when creating the levels, did you use a matrix, or use plains for each of the tiles?

I'm currently creating a 2d level editor for one of my new projects *Bunny Kingdom*, chances are I'll probably be using seperate plains for each tile. -={Tries to keep the game low profile }=-

Back on topic before I stray too far, are you going to be making a sequel to the game?

i used images... it's all 2D stored in a user defined type array... (maybe i'm misunderstanding the question)

If i do it will be a long time from now, like a year or two...
(but yes i'm thinking about planning about thinking about planning about thinking about making a Dungeon 2, in 3 Dee! )

teehee, nice title for your game

i've been going the wrong way about 2d, think i've been using 3d the whole time, just an illustion of it being 2d Even for the Para Troopers game i used seperate plains for the bunny's etc...

Why the long wait for the next dungeon game? Already got a project on the go? a hidden project?

I myself aint too fussed if a game is 3d or 2d, as your first dungeon game proved gameplay is more addictive than graphics, well in this case anyway

using 3D to look like 2D isn't bad at all, it all depends on each individual programmer's style... (anyway, it sure seemed to work great in your game lol )

I have about 4 projects waiting in line before i'll start thinking about sequels ... and they aren't hidden, i just don't want to say i'm going to release a game until i'm sure i'll actually finish it

I was going to ask you if you were up for helping out in one of my current projects, the bunny kingdom project, but as it seem's you've got your hands full with your 4 projects.

Maybe some other time, when i've got the level editor completed for it, it's a 3d zelda style rpg, with a hint of comical sense. Such as sterotypical characters.

One Example:
Alpha Male "WOMAN, know your role! there's a reason why women's feet are smaller than guys, so they can stand closer to the cooker"

Anyway before I get too off topic again I liked the gameplay from your game and would appreciate it if you considered my proposal for bunny kingdom. ah heck i don't care, you can take it or leave it

I'm honoured that you would want me to help!

Quote: "your hands full with your 4 projects."

I'm actually not making all 4 projects at once, i just have them in a "waiting list" (when i finish one i start another).

so i'm not extremely busy, it really depends on what you mean by "helping out"

do you use your msn or yahoo? if you do we could just use one of those to talk instead of constantly bumping this to the top...

last bump then , I use my msn the majority of the time, if i'm not on i'm out with women getting drunk . That will soon stop almost out of money

Helping out, at the moment it would be helping out in the design phase, picking the layout of the game, changing some of the story line, adding new ideas to it etc... etc...

Just started work on 1 sorta 3d sketch of the character as shown in the attachment i'm either going to go for that style but more smoother obviously, or a smaller cartoony version. Not too bad if i say so myself, well for my first attempt at 3d model'n

I'll be doing the coding / object creation / art blah blah, so once the level editor and objects are created you might be able to help out via using the level editor to create levels.

All the levels will be covered in detail though, so it will be done in stages, from the very beginning the village leading up to castles / forests / entire kingdoms and battle grounds etc.. etc..
