I have been wanting to post here for soo long, but since I never completed a project I felt was good enough yet, I haven't until now.

Well, this was designed to help people in my Spanish class study for quizzes. WE are given a list after every test. Then we have about 2 weeks to study the list and know it by test day. Well, I found it hard so I made this program. I'm selling the full version for $7 (With the CD). I don't know if I'll sell it online through email though. I'm still debating. But I thought I'd like to show everyone my first, good (good enought to me), finished program.
Screenies :

Sorry, the images are huge, I don't have any other way to make them smaller (I had to use paint).

Here is the unregistered version download
http://madman1337.ftpaccess.cc/dabip/next/games/spanish.zip

Here is what the Full Version can do:
Support for your own list
Detail: You don't have to do Spanish. You could make your own list. Such as Questions asking, "What is Mario's Name". THen have different answers.
(You wouldn't care as much about this)Update the current list we are using in class
Detail: Since we change lists frequently, it will be hard to keep typing the lists, so I do it for you. Just download it, and away you go!
skip the intro movies
Detail: You are able to skip the intro movies that play at the beginning.

All those features are disabled (or changed) in the Unregistered version. But I do give you a small list to play with that is uneditable. So, you can't stay up with my class with the free version. Tell me what you think, or what I sould change.

David

Cool, if you'd like I would give you the code I used so you could get an idea. Only it doesn't have a single rem statement in it (no `'s either). And it is kinda messy. But thanks! Anyone else?

dabip ______ vgm , i live in Argentina, an spanish is what we speak here , i must say that "Muchos gracias" is wrong, the correct way of saying it is "Muchas gracias". Before trying to sell your prog, better check everything is ok with some expert on the field, or at least someone who's mother language is spanish...

(after downloading and testing it), well, some stuff you have right, others not so good.

Okay, I just gave the game a whirl. Here's a list of changes that I think would make the game better.
Put the background in the game a better quality.
Make the list of questions longer, and harder.
Make your images nicer, and more appealing.

Otherwise it's a nice start. I would add more stuff though, no offense, but I wouldn't pay 7 bucks for that so far, but it has a LOT of potiential.

lol, spanish fight! Muy Bueno! As for the difficulty for the program, that will depend on the list we do.

With the spelling, yah, I know some of the words will be off (like the ú thing would be typed normally as u) I did all those words in my head (I'm only spanish 1 which is why its EHS Spanish 1 Helper ). The actual lists we use are spelling approved as I am just copying down the words from the section we are on in the book.

Thanks for the comments. I gues I Could make the image better. Other than that I don't use any other images. What else could I add to make it better? I have been pondering about that for a while. I bet you can't guess what the school colors I go to is ! (Look at the screens!)

well, I'd add the only spannish sentence I know, but the mods would prolly kill me, looks very interesting, back when I was using Games Factory I started a German version of one of these.

Your signature has been erased by a mod because it's larger than 600x120...

I don't either. Maybe he meant Mi gato es en fuego, or something like that.

Anyhow, I actually am in Spanish 2 HA. Lol, my vocabulary isn't the best, but, I'm gettin' there.

Good Luck!

P.S Add harder words.

Oh, yeah,.... wierd... just as any foreign language one studies. I found many funny, odd, and even illogical words or phrases when studying english...
There where words that meant, not 1 but more than 7 different things, and they all where used in a sentence in the same way, so it was up to the listener to interpretate it correctly... now, that is odd, but as i said, everything that one unknows is weird (and for some scary)....

Thanks! I decided to make EHSSP1H Free for all DarkBASIC Forum Users. Just email me and I'll email a link to the FULL version! I decided that people will be able to see the full power with the full version.

As for the code, I will release soon. I just haven't had a whole lot of time to transfer code between computers (diff computers with internet access than one I made ehssp1h on).

That was quite good,.... however that "ever" is not translated as "siempre", actually, we don't use it, just make enphasis on another part of the sentence to asume that. "Definetly" -> "Definitivamente" ; and the hole sentece "Definitivamente estoy descargando esto", is somewhat ok, but would be better if changed "estoy descargando" with "voy a descargar" or also as "Definitivamente descargaré esto"....

cool. Thanks. I'm glad You like it. I was thinking of adding a way to make the "game" (program) more fun by adding a game or something. IF you have suggestions, tell me.

Well, i remeber a software program once that taught how to type, and it had a game where you try and beat your old words per minute.

If you want in your game, you can start a one minute timer and have the user answer as many questions as possible. Heres a timer you can use if you want:

Current Project: Battlegrounds I
Lines of Code: 76

That's a good idea. Yeah, it will help not only with remembering, but spelling them also. That's good Thanks! I think I'll add that. We not only have a list quiz (we get the list and match the words) but we also have to spell it from our head (duh).
