okay i have these trees in my world(300kb)placed in several places.it seems that when i walk towards any of the trees my player slows than alot if i walk in a direction with no trees he moves reagularly whats going on

it lowers your fps because it takes longer to render the trees on screen, making it look like you go slower.

how much polygons does these trees have each?

I have a model from my card game I'm working at which is 6kb and it has 120 polys
if it's correct to say that your model has 6000polys then, I think it's quite much.
You might try lowering the polygon count and see if you note the quality difference.

Lol 6000 polies on a tree, thats terrible! Id suggest writing a function for using plains with textures on them

so if the tree does have too many polygons then how can i lower them i want to use the tree bu dont want my player to slow down so dramitically if possible

Cut down the polies in a model editing proggy. I suggest milkshape so you can just use direct x mesh tools

koolaid, which program do you use for making/editing 3d models?

rpgamer, that 6000 was just a result of my calculation, but I'm not sure if you can calculate it like that...

anyway, it has too much polygons

i have milkshape well the trial version of it though i know nothing about making models
