We've got to get blended animation control in DarkBasic Pro! I just downloaded a couple of demo applications from Genesis 3d. One of them uses blended animations. It adds so much variability to the animations. I love it!

Anyhow, tell me if it's on the todo list for some future upgrade or if I should be making another investment in Genesis 3d?

Thanks,

Ben

I agree , motion blending is a very much needed feature.
I have no idea if or when it is going to be implmented.

Pathfinder, if I preanimate all of the motion blended anims then the results won't have the dynamic dimension to apply to all situations in the 3d environment. Like if I want the guy to limp with the left leg and turn to shoot a baddy who's on the right side blended animations would make this animation look very natural. The preanimation method would be strange looking at best.

I asked Lee about this:
------------------------------------------------------
Q: Is DBpro ever going to support Skeletal Animation ? (motion blending), especially with HalfLife MDL models in mind

If MDL employs such a technique, then we will support it if it falls into the selection of 3D commands we have at present. Special commands that play on specific animation techniques will not be introduced until Patch 6 if enough requests are made for such features. We tend to work on what the community wants next.

Best Regards,
Lee Bamber

So, are there anyone that wish motion blending integrated in DBpro?

I DO! lol

Would definitely make it easier than what I planned to do with my program (writing flow chart now, doing code soon).

To describe the same situation above, I planned on having a totally different object for left leg, right leg, torso, each arm, and head. Then, the different models just move together, each performing their own animations, as they go. The left leg could limp, while the torso turned and the arm lifted to fire.

Of course, Motion Blending would require fewer resources, and would be much simpler to code. I am all for this.

And again, again, I'm an old newcomer 8) I came to forums when DB was the hing, and then fell out of coding for a bit, and am now back... Pretty sure the community vets will be the deciding peeps on stuff like this 8)

I want that too! It'd be so cool to be able to get your model walking with something like LOOP MOTION 1,1 then have him look over his shoulder (while he's still walking) with PLAY MOTION 1,37.

Without recording every possible combination ahead of time, that is. You can do this in Hash Animation:Master. It would really open up the possibilities if it could be done in DBP.
