I would like to draw sprites, but my art skills are elementary.
I need to draw some space shipswith convincing looking metal and glass effects. Or at least some sort of interesting texture other a plain flat surface. I am currently using Pro-motion. Would it be better to create the ship in A 3D program and convert it to a sprite, or would that be even more difficult?
I woud also like to be able to animate basic figures for platform games etc.
I don't expect someone to give me a full tutorial on the forum, but if someone could point me towards some good resources (books, web sites etc) I would appreciate it, as everything I find seems to be geared towards 3d.
