I just remembered there were people here too.

http://www.realgametools.net/forums/attachments/edsteroids.zip

(~700k zipped .exe)

You have to click on that thing, play my fantastic game, then come back and tell me how great it is. If you don`t think it`s great then i must remind you: "it`s not finished yet". I would say "this is my first game ever" too, but that isn`t true.

What are you waiting for?

Great game. I like the explosions and the fast fire rate. I'd rather the up key was thrust and control was fire but other than that a great game. Will be even better if you get some enemies and powerups in as mentioned in your readme.

Yeah, i agree the game is good, but i kept pressing ctrl as fire instead of thrust.

A couple of ideas, obviously you don't have to implement them, they are just ideas:
Perhaps the gun temp should rise quicker and fall slower.
As xtom said, perhaps the up key could be thrust and ctrl fire.
I persume that the ship will suffer damage? If so, is there going to be a shield which can be used for a little while in particulary difficult levels or something?

Anyways, good game.

perhaps a redefine keys option would be prudent. I was bred on Gravity Force 2, so up as fire seems natural to me. I might have a shield thing (with a spanky glowing effect), but mostly i think your ship should be fragile. If i have time i`ll do some damage effects, and exploding into bits etc.

Maybe i`ll have a shop where you can buy upgrades- upgrate gun power/ fire rate too much and not upgrade the cooling system then overheating wil become more of a poroblem etc.

One other thing, you could make the ship slightly larger, so you can see it better and which direction it is pointing.

- Very fast and smooth
- Nice demolition effect
- Hard to control, very fast turning

All in all, good work
