Well, I looked the the system requirements on its section on the main TGC site, and found it said it was compatible with C++, but didn't list any other apps, is that because it only runs through C++ or can it run on other languages,

I am asking this because I can't get C++ 2005 to get SDK's to work, I've had people step me through what they do on their versions, but nope nada and followed instructions of help files included in other SDK's, so I run C# instead, so can I run Dark Game SDK in C#?

Are you using the commerical version or the free version. If its the latter, then it wont work as Microsoft dont include all their library files in the Platform SDK. I hope to find out about the commerical version when its released towards to end of the month.

You cant use DarkSDK in C#

bugger, oh well, what other SDK's that are easy like Dark Game I can find? not Truevision3D or Direct X 9 SDK, because I have them both already, I'm just going around getting SDK's and seeing which one I like best.

Just to confirm, the commercial version of VC 2005 doesn't work with DarkSDK either. I spent a good few hours wedging the VC 2003 includes and libraries into VC 2005 but that didn't solve the link problems completely either.

It seems there have been some changes to MFC in 2005, and the single threaded version of libc has been deprecated. We'll have to wait for a recompile of the DarkSDK libs for VC 2005 for it to work. It's a shame, VC 2005 is rather nice.

@Seppuku Arts: The only other game SDK I can think of is the Torque Engine. I've no direct experience with it yet though.

I know of torque, buts its not free, I am not gonna buy things if I am not sure I will use them, actually they might have a demo or free version, I'll take a look.

Thanks for the heads up, explains why none of my downloaded SDK's will run, but what I don't understand is why Direct X 9 SDK Oct 2005 doesn't work for me....

Shame - seems like Microsoft have modified a lot of things.

Hmm me hopes TGC adds support for VC++ 2005 soon!
Me wants to use it with out having a license restriction on the compiler

Right now im not using the DGSDK.
I bought it thinking I could upgrade my license for VC++ 6.0
It turns out to be too much work.

Right now im using VC++ 2005 Express and VC# 2005 Express, and I am practicing the tutorials that come with them, and the dx 9.0 sdk.

How did you get the DX 9.0 SDK to work in VC++ 2005 express, I'm having tonnes of trouble getting any SDK's to run in VC++ 2005 express, C# and VB run them though

Does not build due to syntax errors, meaning there are parts of the code it cannot read
