its often hard to texture without a tablet, at least I find it that way.. if you take the time to actually post a UVmap for your model as well.. someone might try it out.. but the model itself does have a few propotional errors which you probably should address first.. posting screens of the model and asking what you can change would help in this case I belive. Also would be nice to see what you'll actually be using the model for. As in information about the ww2-ish game or whatever.

Yeah good point Jonny.

@Steve C - Post some screenshots of the model so we can see what the go with it is. Also, if you want someone to texture it for you, give us a rough idea of what your looking for. I'd be happy to give it a go if i found the time and if you posted some images/ideas about the model.

Hope this helps.

Some shots of the model would be nice too mate. We cant really see what would work if we cant see a model!

Looking forward to an image

that's an awful uv map, if anyone were to texture it for you, they'd have to remap it first

I don't have a sig, live with it.

To start with, it's got LOADS of wasted space. Secondly, it's automatically generated and therefore has lots of seams that would cause texture problems - you would notice seams between areas.

... what you want me to write an entire tutorial on UV mapping?

google for something like "UV mapping tutorial", have a look at these threads, see if you can find anything

http://boards.polycount.net/showflat.php?Cat=0&Number=29042&an=0&page=0&gonew=1#UNREAD

http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php?t=7228

when you make a UV map, you need to have as little wasted space as possible, and also you need to have as few duplicated vertices as possible, as this will slow down your game down.

also, try and find the save as jpeg function in whatever your image editor is, i don't like downloading 2 meg bmps

I don't have a sig, live with it.
