I get the following error returned when I try to run Rainbow in Win-98.

Failed to load DLL (1: gui2_release.dll) [OK]

Please help if you know why - I really want to use rainbow.
All I have tried to do is re-install the Blue GUI2 package but that was the limit of my ideas for fixing it!

That's an odd name for the DLL. It should be gui2.dll, and you should find it in the compiler/plugins-user folder.

Just for clarification for anyone trying to help me with this....

The error is all that is returned after selecting RAINBOW from the START menu. (And I get the same thing if I try to run it from DBPro).

Nothing other than the error is displayed on the windows desktop.

Rainbow does not seem to start at all so I don't think the error is returned by RAINBOW, rather the error message seems to be generated by windows. (It looks like a windows error but then again that's what BlueGUI is for - making things look like windows).

Looks like it was compiled with a dev version of the DLL. The Rainbow source is included, just recompile it.

Thanks for your input everyone (BatVink & IanG), It's solved..... well I've got it working (suggesting that it's solved suggests that I know what was going wrong - which I don't).

Special thanks to IanG - sometimes you're so close to a problem you don't think of the obvious. I just logged on to the BlueGUI website and downloaded the latest version of RAINBOW. Voila now it works.

Snaps for IanG.
