Ok, does anyone know an easy way to accept credit cards or paypal on a website without paying a fee or having to give out your social security number?

There is always factoring, but it's slightly illegal in the USA.

Basically accepting credit cards without using a merchant account is factoring, unless you first sell your product to the place in question that has a merchant account.

If you want to sell using paypal just go to their site. They have the option to put a shopping cart on your site. It's really easy to use too...

Go to their site and read their terms.

I think all you need to become verified is to register a bank account.
This is only for security so they know who you really are.

If you don't want them to have your real account info then start a separate bank account.
A lot of banks offer free checking.
Start a small separate account and give that info to PayPal.
That way, if there ever was a breech it wouldn't effect your life savings.

That method is only for the Paranoid.
I've never had a problem with PayPal, and I was a member before eBay bought them out.
But, it never hurts to cover your bum.
