Hello,

FPSC Looks like a great program, I love the drag and drop but I ran into a major problem. I have half-life 2 installed on my computer and the framerate works fine with everything on high. I have downloaded the FPSC and made a demo map, I tried to play and the framerate was so slow that it was not playable. I have downloaded user made games using FPSC such as Project Luna ( http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=49969&b=25 ) and the framerate runs supers slow. I ask a few of my friends to download a few games made by FPSC and its the same for them.

I just want to know who else has the same problem, I don't want to buy FPSC and start making games to sell if the are going to have major framerate problems.

Thank you very much.

Yeah the FPS is slow. but riker 9 will fix it whenever it comes out i hope soon so i can actually make long levels, they way i keep the FPS playable is make ALOT of levels just really small. make like 4 small levels that equal 1 long lvl and itll be fine. thats what i do and i still make a profit selling my 20-30 lvl games

Actually I am/will waiting on Mike to check on something for me. Part my fault since I haven't sent him the test program (which got deleted thanks to CE) but once I send it to him, we should be able to get the frame rates up and running much faster (70% at my guess).

Well, Riker 9 will be a good thing... but for most people with really bad frames per second problems, 70% will just raise their current framerate of maybe 5 Fps to about 8 or maybe 9.... what still results in an unplayable game.
Anyway, I will wait for Riker 9.... if a simple one room games will still result in eyepain, I gonna return FPSC as it simply can not do what it promises.....
And for anyone going to complain again... "switch off your antivirus or do better leveldesign"... no that's not the cause. The 3D engine behind FPSC is simply BAD. No doubt about that!
I can run Batlefield 2 at 1024x768/32 with good leveldetails, effects etc at 68 Frames per second, but can not run the one room demo that came with FPSC at frame rates higer than 7.... then it is definately not my fault. Anyway, FPSC is a good program.. meant for the cool editor... but the finished games are so unplayable that I don't think, anyone out there will ever really play games created with FPSC or even sell such a thing..... FPSC v1 should be more FPSC v0.1 beta.... there is so much to improve before that piece of software is usable, that it shouldn't have been sold in its current state of development....

true it has it faults but i think what cellblock means is 70% improvement over the 32fps you should get which means about 50 on a well designed level which is a gd start plus i have tried one of rikers early tests and it ran at 65 fps on one of my complex maps

Thanks

The 5.9 Update is out of beta, When I recompiled the original FPSC source code with it, I get a great speed improvement (65 FPS) but when I added 6 Prefab Large Cellars, 2 Officers with Pistols per room, framerates dropped down to 10-17 fps.

I really hope Cellbloc has found something good!
