Is it possible to have cutscenes between levels.
So say you complete a level, then theres a video, then the next level?

yeh, guess so.
it would be betta if you could have the movie on its own tho.

Edit the loading script with the $video command (or whatever it is ) and point it to your video. If you don't have the scripting expertise, ask Bullshock to help you. It takes some tinkering, but you can sucessfully have a video play while loading as far as I'm concerned.

hav an idea.

1.could u put a win zone and a story zone on the same square. so when you go on it, video loads up, then when the video has finished playing the level ends?

2. Also, can you change the quality of story zone videos?, coz they come out really pixelated in my games.

works better if you put a story zone directly over the start marker for the next level.

also...you CAN have videos while loading, but the videos have to load too, so unless its a super tiny video, i woulden recamend it.

anyway, how professional games do it (most of them anyway) is they have the end of the level, then it loads, then the cutscene, then the next level. and thats what putting a story zone directly over the start marker for the next level accomplishes.

[edit]

if your videos are pixalated, thats because of the resolution.

fpsc displays videos full screen, and depending what resolution you are running, the non pixilated video size varies.

if your running 1024x768...you can get a good video out of something rendered in 800x600...but if you want perfect video, you will have to render it at 1024x768 or higher.

Just place a story zone and make it an objective. That should work.

Someone did this by creating a blank level and putting the story zone underneath the start zone, so you fell into it.

Something like that, anyway.

@Limp Cookie: I think BULLSHOCK 2's idea is best. A storyzone marker in the same square as the start marker for the next level would probably make things a lot easier.

@transient: Yeah, but you only get a limit of 50 levels in a game, and doing that would be a waste of levels when you could put it at the start marker for the next level.

I got an bug that when I put story zone in second or later level of the game it crashes the game.
Then after the building .exe of course!

And when I put high resolution video in storyzone, it sounds are disjointed!

Anyone else have this bug?

Nigezu, I'm pretty sure this is a known, documented bug. The storyzone only works in the first level.
