i woundn't go round trying to find ideas - when ever i need a dll it is when i'm writing something, i find i can't do it in pro so i make a dll in c++ to do it, so really make something you want. I always think that a good one to start off with is a kind of advance file dll, alowing better access to files, like in binary, and then have it so that you can edit any part of it - by moving the read and write pointers

Save object filename$, objnum doesn't work for you? File extension is .dbo

I also posted a .x exporter in the code snippets forum.
