I am working on an RPG, and after searching for someone to make the building models for me I just decided to do it myself. So I worked on this model for about an hour and came out with a simple house. I just don't know how to do the whole UV mapping and texturing thing (as you can tell).

Well, dl the picture.

What do you think for a first model?

Well it looks pretty good for a first model, give it a better texture and you should be good to go.

How many polies?

Also, is it like a...string...house?

Honestly, please post an un-textured model as it looks like it could be good...but the texture makes it look like butt. A picture of a nice untextured version would be helpful to boost your C&C to a more positive level...lol

The texture is just a proxy for now, because I got bored with all gray models. So I just made a black texture with some lines. No it is not suppost to be make of string. I just wanted to show how wierd the textures went onto it. If you notice the door especially.

I am using anim8or.

Heres a pic in anim8or.

Hey i like that last one, it has character. For a texture, just go into UV mode, select say one side of the house, and unwrap it. Then just put some kind of shingles image over that. You should be able to do the same with the other sides of the house, the roof, and so on.
