Kinda reminds me of a young Ted Danson (sp?)...

Hey, nice work
I think perhaps the eyes are too high. They should be located about where the nose starts to go into the forehead. Also perhaps you should try to make the mouth a bit broader.

Good work overall, keep it up.

Thanks Jonny, that's why your the King... The eyes could use some adjustments... I tweaked them some let me know what you think...

About the mouth, can you elaborate on the broadness... I had a wider one but it didn't look right...

Also, maybe I should texture the mouth (using a very old pirate texture on this one, haven't mapped it yet either that's why the eyelids are messed up and the brows are not right)

I love to give pointers when people take them serious
I think perhaps the texture will have a lot to do with how the mouth looks in the end.. I'll put up a quick sketch of suggested fixes.

The mouth should be a little closer to the nose, and broaden the upper lip to the center of his pupils. the place on the lower lip that you see protruding starts a little inside those bondaries.

the neck is a bit too skinny, should start right behind the jaw bone. Texture wise, the upper lip is usually a bit darker than the lower, you have that but i think maybe a little bit more would give it a better more realistic feel. I dont know the name for the part, but the piece of cartilage between the nostrils needs to be pulled down a bit.

I cant tell from the pic, but if you want to do mouth movement correctly you should have 2 verts where the bottom and top lips met on the side.

Overall this model is great, especially for milkshape. these were just a few nit picky things, the only major problem i saw was the neck thing, and the eyes and nose were a bit too high. Everything is modelled correctly, basically just some good old fashioned vert pinching will get this guy looking great.

No man, nit pick all you want... The only way I am gonna learn is by taking crits from you guys.. And getting "SWEET" love from Jonny with those advice pictures...

As for the neck, don't get upset if you don't see any changes on that one... The current neck is just a post for reference, I want to get the face/head correct before moving on to the other parts..

Jonny - If I finish this face/head and you want to use it in the future for a texturing tut it's all yours... Hopefully things will work out and this model will eventually become one of the hero's in Gil's Pirate game....
