You're hosting and joining... from the same game...

And that only makes your game online (if that), it doesn't actually make your game multiplayer or anything as such.

Not.. a bad start, and a good idea. Just...needs..work.

input "Name: ",name$
rem
1) PERFORM CHECKLIST FOR NET PLAYERS
2) PERFORM CHECKLIST FOR NET CONNECTIONS
2) SET NET CONNECTION checklist quantity()
3) create net player name$
4) CREATE NET GAME "Shoot out", name$, 100
5) perform checklist for net sessions
5) join net game checklist quantity(), name$
6) if net game exists() then join net game checklist quantity(),name$
7) rem

1) You can't do that since you aren't in a game.
2) I don't think picking a random connection method is a good idea.
3) You can't do that since you aren't in a game.
4) Ok you are creating the game, thus hosting, which is fine, but..
5) What? You just created the game, you don't join it when you are hosting it.
6) Why are you trying again when it just failed?
7) Whats up with the rems?

I'm not putting it down, it's called constructive critisizm. If you don't want it then simply don't post here.

We know you are trying to help, but posting faulty code just doesn't help I'm afraid!

What's more, this forum has rules which you are supposed to follow before posting:

http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=560&b=11

As you will see, the idea is that it's basically a challenge to see how good a program you can write and still fit onto 20 lines. The 'challenge' part is the use of the colon to fit up to 25 commands onto a single line and have the program still run.

But that doesn't make it multiplayer. Multiplayer is when other people can connect to YOU. Go ahead, have someone try and connect to you and see if you two can move a box around each other and see each other online. That is what multiplayer is, when two people can communicate over the internet. You only showed us how to set an ip. Thats not multiplayer online, thats only setting an IP.

Yes thats right people, now everyone can make online games in two lines, as long as it asks for an IP

Anyhoo, good attempt but in the end it's not good for anything really, try to understand that people are putting your posts down for two reasons:

Either

1. You're posts might deserve being put down if they aren't Megaton or Jimmy Approved, I suggest filing a report to the National Jimmy Organization.

or

2. (The more likely one), your posts are making matters worse rather than helping, and in turn people are offering custructive critisism to help you make those posts helpful as you intended.

Dont take this as flamming or anything, just more constructive critisism, or "putting down", whichever way you look at it.

I was just trying to point out that just because it asks for a connection, doesn't mean anything. Granted no, I havent looked at the code, I just thought it was funny that you were assuming that aslong as something asks for an IP, it must be online.
