does anyone know how i can determin the data transfer rate using either visual basic or dark basic? i.e. i made a program to download stuff from the web, i'm trying to make a progress bar but i don't know how to calculate the data transfer rate! any suggestions?

if there's a way to find the size of a file, you could find the size of the file you're downloading (before it finsihes), wait a second, then get it again. That way, you know how much info has been downloaded in 1 second, and you could calculate the transfer rate and how much time is left
