Hello,

I have just purchase my copy of FPS and look forward to getting to know the the community. I have been lurking here about a week and notice a nice array of opinions about everything.

Being new to the community I find it hard to identify the helpful community members and the application developers. It would be nice to know who's who. Would someone list who the Application developers are here the forums?

About myself:

I'm in my mid 40s and work as an IT professional for a international manufacturing company. I came across FPS while looking for a Christmas gift for my eldest son. I was so impressed with it's simplicity I found myself developing a level or two. Great Fun!!!

So here I am looking for advice. I have never developed a game and have little programming skills. Any guidance would be greatly appriciated.

Regards,

William

welcome its nice to see some introduce them selves this way

after reading some of the posts on the forum and viewing some of the showcase posts

you will discover we are a tight nit community and a small group of us are working hard to take the engine beyond its barriers

and create custom stuff

then again there are the small amount you claim to be the next microsoft and the next sony developing there next big blockbuster then they show screenshots of ww2 or sci fi

any way welcome aboard and this community will help you all it can

Alwase good to have a new person! Especialy for us younger ones so we can be smarter (if only for a little bit ) then aduilts ! But I would reccomend going to fpsfiles.com or whatever its called and downloading stuff from them. I'd also reccommend that you look into some of the other content packs, and Merranvo's (aka one post) scripts.
Also, search all the FPSC boards for "free", and you'll find lots of stuff.

But welcome!

Hello,

Thank you for the welcome. Sorry for the double post, It looked as if the first post didn't take so I posted again. I play a game called WWIIonline... You might have heard of it. I have played it for four years and understand how new games or applications take time to develope. The launch of that game was all messed up. But I have been with that community since the beginning and plan to stay with this application as well. Bare with me as I get settled in and overlook some of the obvious questions I might ask. Thank you for the advice and suggestions already given.
