Hi,

Are levels made in the trial version playable in the full version? Is it a simple process for my friend to send me his trial-version levels and me to load them?

Yes. I recently purchased the full version of FPSC and The level I was making to learn the program was still there... But a level from the trial version would be very limited in options. Tell your friend to just pay the fifty bucks. It's well worth it!
