I'll be getting this game without a doubt for Christmas. I think what the developers are doing is very nice of them to let people create their own game using a simple tool, where the sky is the limit.

I was actually planning on licencing the Source Engine (HL2), However, it is far too much money for a begginer. Things seemed to be hopeless. Then one day, I'm doing a random browse through GameSpot, and I come across this game. I read some reviews, checked it out, and I must say, I'm very excited now.

I have a question however. Is there an ingame demo showing how the game handles FPS games? Thanks in advance.

I cant wait to get crackin'. This game is truly a life saver.

FPSC is a great introduction to what's involved in game design, you won't be making games like Half Life, but I doubt you expect that anyway. Some aspects like adding your own media are quite tricky, but there's no getting around that, there's a lot of skills involved that would need to be learned - changing textures with your own versions is easy though.

You should try the demo version, and if you like it then go for it, use your own judgment.

The best thing you can do is make gritty indoor levels with lots of dark lighting and add your own high-poly models... Because the ones which come with FPSC are too old to fit to todays standards, especially for someone considering to license the SOURCE engine. If you learn the upside-downs of the program you should be able to make some serious games, i just did a great one with just the demo version and I will be buying the complete version because after you add your own segments and prefabs and objects, it can be a very very powerful tool.
