thinking of buying the darkmatter model packs and basically mixing and matching to make the player character creation kit for game i am working on.

i know blender can export to .x but i don\'t see anything about importing them or if blender will support them natively.

honestly surprised modelers don\'t seem to sell fully boned character creation kits.

note: i have checked the character creator thingy on this site and its seems oriented to the military fps games, i am doing mostly martial arts style combat and fully expect to have frame by frame my animations.

There is a reason why you don't see too much here....

Three things to consider with building animated characters...

1. build the actual model
2. build the models animations
3. texture the models

I would venture to say there are only a select handful of folks on these boards that can do all three well...

But your right about one thing, a creation system where body parts, textures, animations could be mixed and matched would be a gold mine...
