Hi all.
I got FPS creator for Xmas today (I had it bought for me earlier, but couldn't have it until today for obvious reasons!)...(Xmas prezzie)

What downloads do you guys recommend for me to get as extras to add to it ?(scripts, models, segments etc)

I'm not concerned with extra music though, as I write most of my own stuff as MP3's these days..

Thanks in advance,
Steve

First and foremost, welcome aboard the nut train!

That's a tough questions, really depends on what you want to do.

There are some websites out there, some packs, scripts, art. There's people doing a wonderfull work around the web with FPSC in mind, not many, but some quite good.

FPSPack is a must in my opinion and it's free as far as I know. When it comes to art, there's some stuff around in the media forum and some paid (and good) stuff here and there. Regarding scripts, pretty much everything is in the script forum, just look around with an open eye for Merranvo posts I just asked him for a script that serves me coffee and I bet he can do it.

What do you have in mind, it would be easier to help you if you have an idea what you are going to do, but my best advice right now is to do some testing with the actual art included in the game and when you decide about the first "real" one, start looking for art.

Good luck! and a Happy New Year!

I'm pretty sure I know everything. Doubts are something rare in me and I am never wrong, as this signature can prove.

I'm working on a pack right now that should be done within the next two weeks. There are also quite a few free entities, segments, decals, etc. at:

Fash, did this Apollo Version open in 2003 or 2002, I thought it was 2003. As you are obviously a DBP user, I would sudjest using FPSC only for the level building rather then as the engine (for obvious reasons). And please do share your discoverys on the secrets of lee (More as, what the heck this source is doing, I start reading it, and then lose myself tring to figurure out just ONE SIMPLE THING)

And most of all, welcome.

Thanx guys....
I mainly got fpsc to knock up some quick games with my son, as it's click n play technology, and saves me banging my head on the desk coming up with anything codewize in dbp

I'll take a look at some of the media in the media section andc have viewed some of the stuff on the fps-files site (nice site btw)..

ATM we've knocked together a few small games (he's only 5), but
I think "Riker 9" should make things a bit more interesting. The slowdown when adding multiple enemies is a bit distresssing currently !

Thanks for your help so far guys
Steve

(Merranvo I think the current apollo version was 2003 if I recall)

Yep, that's me, although I only put up some of my XM mods...never bothered uploading oggs or mp3's as ethos never played em....
Twas a shame and I think Glyn tried to get things going again with Ethos, but by the time he did he'd lost too many users to Blitz and DB
