I got a gun model from Milkshape and exported it as a .X file. When I use it in the game, it doesn't appear. Can someone please help me?

Thank you

Sorry I didn't explain it enough. I can still use the weapon, but it doesn't appear on the screen. I spent a long time changing the coordinates of the weapon but it still doesn't appear.

You have to save the HUD.X file so that the weapon appears correctly. It's probably there, but behind you or something.

Keith is right, here's a screenshot of his sword at the correct coordinates for hud in TrueSpace. Not what you'd think it would be.

I'm using .X files for my HUD. How do I change the coordinates for a .X file?

@Argadon: The screenshot you saw above was the hud.x file in TrueSpace. You bring the .X file into your modeler and simply move the entity with your mouse to change the coordinates. If you don't have TrueSpace/GameSpace, Fragmotion imports .X files and MilkShape does it through the Tools menu. All X, Y, and Z coordinates can be set by just moving the entity around the plane in the editor.

*Edit: Forgot to mention that's also where you can rotate and size the entity. In TrueSpace/GameSpace it's called an Object.

Does the HUD coordinates that JOOM posted of the sword in Truespace apply for 3ds max? Can you place it in the same area and it appears?

@Argadon: Generally the coordinates are the same. You always have a 0,0,0 starting point in your modeler, which would be the center of the plane. It usually just takes some playing around with positioning to figure out how you need to place the object in order for it to show up correctly as a hud. Once you've done that, you can keyframe animate it before you save to .X, you just have to pay attention to the frames so you can designate correctly in your FPE. Unless of course your weapon is going to be completely stationary on screen. It's best to start out the way TeMpLaR1 mentioned. Good luck.
