I see a lot of skinny little trees, and tree generators, but I want something that looks more realistic. I would make one, but I want about 20/30 that are not identical. Look at this picture.....



This is a professional looking tree. It is for sale for about $28. I want something like that. I am making a woodland as a 2D render, so even 2D landscape utilities will do.

Or tips on how to make a realistic tree quickly enough to make 20/30 trees. I also need water, and grass, and vegetation.

Tutorial?
Models?
Renderers?
Generators?

All must be freeee!!!

I'll take a shot at it, and if I come up with anything good I'll redo it and make a tut for it. I can't say I'll do as well as that tree you see there, and it will be untextured, but I can try for you.

Try TreeMagik free version. It exports .X model files fully textured and low poly (usually 500 - 1000 polies).
if you're using DBC, you might have to convert the jpg texture files to bmp.

the free version does not export x. it exports B3d and the treemagik file format
