Hi - I'm completely new to FPSC, and I have a few simple questions. I'm hoping someone can help me...

1. How do I increase/decrease the light from a particular light marker?

2. How do I use trigger zones to open or close specific doors?

3. How do I reset Trigger Zones, so they can activate again the next time it gets walked through?

4. How do I put my own signs (as bmps or jpgs) on the walls?

5. How can I add to points to separate score counters depending upon which route a character takes?

Thanks in anticipation of the community's help.

Ta,

Jez

1) you can change the range of the light and the colour, but not the ammount of light. To change the range or colour, make sure you have no entities selected, then right click the light to go into the properties window. then you can change lots of things.

2) Never tried it myself but place your trigger somewhere and follow the same steps as the light to get to the properties window. At the top, you'll see:
Start: appear.fpi
Main: plrinzone.fpi
End: Disappear.fpi
You wnat to change this to something like
Start: plrinzone.fpi
Main: ? (look for something like opendoor.fpi)
End: Disappear.fpi

3)Change the End fpi from Disappear.fpi to appear2.fpi, i think

4)Download the segment editor (I don't know where to find it, sorry) or if you just want your own signs, as in wall furniture, there's a new tool in the models and media forum that can do it.

5)I don't know, good question. You might have to script it yourself using fpi maker.

Hope this helps,
AE

You can effectively dim a light by changing it's value.

A grey light appears dimmer than a white one, just try it.

Thanks, Avenging Eagle.

I've now found a quicker way to dim lights - left mouse click on the lamp when in Marker mode, and then use '[' key to dim or ']' to brighten.

That just changes the range of the light, not it's intensity.

Your question was little vague in that respect, but you found out what you wanted so it's all good.

@transient : True, but it amounts to the same thing.

@eagle: the other stuff (2, 3 and 5) I can't get anywhere with.

Also, any idea how I use a trigger zone to open & close a trapdoor? The manual (yes, I've read it!) mentions this as a possible use for triggers zones, but then does explain how to do it.

Sorry to be dim - it's all very new to me, and maybee I'll figure it out, but helpful suggestions are always welcome.
