Umm yea so I looked at Insanity Complex's sword modelling tutorial and took it a few steps further. I then found myself stuck with a sword and sheath model that I had no use for. Here it is, use for for "commercial" products or w/e you want just dont say you made it... I dont care for credit, just dont credit yourself or someone else.

sword= 96 polys sheath is 34... together thats 130

modelled with Blender, textured with GIMP, UV'ed with Lithunwrap.

Im going to make a buckler type shield to go with it. possibly some other stuff as well.

EDIT: Now the shield is included along wiht the updated sword texture. LOOKS MORE LIKE METAL! Dodic >,>

well the shield is rather basic, could have better patters on it and things, the sword looks nice but you could add more shading to emphisise its sharpness like make it get lighter towards the blade edges, same for the holster.

Halowed are the ori.

If you want to do that be my guest... Like I said I suck at texturing and this took me about an hour if ou add it all up(modelling UVing and texturing). It wasnt meant to be really nice, its only like 203 polys put together.

As for the sheild, it is a buckler shield, just as I said it was going to be... I didn't add much detail because I didnt really care, its supposed to be a universal shield for peoples games. I wasn't really asking for crits because its not my best work, I just threw it together... its free! if you want it download it... if you dont, dont...

@OddMind

Downloaded your new model and it's looking great!

You have inspired me, I think I may make some free models for the community as soon as I get my RPG modeling out of the way.

Dude that looks rad! (hehe i said rad) I'm glad to see that someone got some use out of it . If you want more cool weapons for your game I can make some... Ive got some good ideas, mostly spawned from my kung fu weapons that I use.

Ill post some pics in a minute.

@ Dodic - I think hes using it as a 2 hand sword.

Now I know what You guys must be thinking: Why is a scifi character holding a medieval sword. Well in my RPG while there will be modern and futuristic weapons availible there are going to be special "enchanted" weapons with magical abilities, so while an enemy may attack you with a gun if you have a lightning blade you can cast a lightning bolt spell on him and fry him before he even pulls the trigger, nifty, huh?

sorry to compare your character to this... but for the sake of the coolness...

It could be like trunks from dragonball z... He dodged like energy balls and stuff with his hella tight sword. Then he had a hissy fit when it broke but thats his fault right?
