The only thing I'd say is that this hand would suffer from extreme stretching if it was rigged and animated. You'd need some more vertices around the joints to make it less visible.

But it all depends on how detailed the full object would be. Nice, simple, few steps otherwise.

I think that to create good tutorials u need to create good models
and this hand model is not so good , it doesnt even close to be a hand

your other tutorial was sweet, but I don't think you have conquered how to hand model properly, and you won't be the only one, my hands always look super crap, if Eedam was a regular member he could second that one as he has had to animate a few of my models

@Insanity Complex, need a hand (scuse the pun) I'll write you a tut on modelling hands in C4D, and you can convert it to wings for me, that might help, ja? Well my hand modelling is crap, so it will be useful for me to try Lemme install this program, and then I'll start

*sigh* well, for simple non animated hands, looks like this is the place to come... I dunno if I'll revisit this one, but it is a possibility.

you had the right idea just expand upond it by adding more detail that would make it look more like a hand.

I'll be blunt - don't right tutorials when you are not experienced! You are in no position to teach people. The hand is blatently thick and ugly and would not stand a chance to be rigged and animated - let alone put in a game.

I thought the hand turned out fairly nicely and proportional, of course it could easily be tweaked. I hadn't thought of rigging and animation when I made the hand. I figured it could be used in a simple game in which you want a visible hand, but tons of detail aren't required. I'll be blunt-your post was a bit rude. I am aware that I am inexperienced, and the two tutorials I have written so far have been learning experiences for me, as I have stated in other threads. I think your post was uncalled for, of course I may have taken it the wrong way, so...no harm done.

insatniy if you dont mind, I could write a hand modelling tutorial. Ive got some nice recourses (in book form) and some past knowledge from when you guys told me to fix the thumb on my other model. I never did, but i did research it .

It may have been rude but it got the point across. If you look at your hand now, it shouldn't be that thick. It should be about as thick as a TV Remote, not a mouse.

I've been studying hands a lot lately for my Art Project - and your model isn't proportional.

Oh well, I tried, I got some good feedback, and this will probably be revisited on my part... And of course I won't mind if someone else wrote a hand tutorial, maybe then I could find out what I did wrong(because I honestly don't know, I'd have to see it the right way to process it through my mind)

You went wrong where you made the starting shape too thick. All the problems stem from there.

And from using Wings3d.

i would love to see you`r next tutor , don`t think this one is so bad as you do , it`s simple , and the hand shape isn`t so great , but it is good enough for making hand`s for some models don`t worry ..

Snipa masta is right. Your box is too wide and not tall enough. The areas for raising the fingers should be about square.
