rar how is it beter then zipped files? i made me a website but gess whot lol 10 megs is all i get.so all i can upload is one file.and dont have the extra money right now to buy a hosting plan.but will rar make the file smaller or somethin? (WinAce)

Rar is usually a good bit smaller than Zip, like a 10mb Rar might be 14mb Zip.

yeah - if you use RAR you get loads of options to further compress and stuff.

Or zip - if needs be too.

Can I also recommend "chainsaw" too. If you wanna leave smaller chunks for people on dial-up to dl, then you specify the file size (say, 8 meg or 4 meg or whatever) and it chops it up, with an ace chainsaw sound, then gives you however many chunks and a bat file to put it all back together again. Works well with rar'd or zipped files to reduce size and make dl for slower connections alot better.

Best bit - its totally free too!!

Dont have site to hand - google it!

YAHOO!?! We don't YAHOO things, we altavista them!

I like file breaker. Simple, small, and fast.

Also, doNOT use WinAce, that is the least used format and you are forced to download the WinAce Screw your System Up software. WINRAR is okay, but not WinAce.

To be honest, I'd totally forgotten winACE existed.

Tried looking for chainsaw - its hosted on 2 german servers but they were both down yesterday. (FYI)

So Try merranvos suggestion if you want to further reduce your files.
