Here's something I've done recently. Any comments?

Well, I'm not sure I'm gonna dirty it up too much more as it is part of a model pack. Here's the texture before I messed with it a bit:

Thanks for the advice though

never be afraid of dirting it up, 'cause you can always supply a clean version, imho i think it needs some dirt road the edges and the base a bit more, but thats me

by the way, i forgot to ask how many polys is it? and if you can post the wires of it?

Well, Dodic, I hate to tell you, but in the 9 years I was in the Army I rarely saw a dirty ammo case because we generally keep them in a warehouse. When we need ammo we draw it from supply then throw out the case. I've thought of making a clean version as well for all the models; it would definately give more variation to people's levels. It would basically just be additional .TGA files associated with the .X model file. I'm trying to keep the download small. Thanks for the input again, all.

The model is 108 faces and 57 verts. I can post a wire later.

Yep, texturing (especially making things realistic...NOT photo-realistic mind you) is something I continue to work on. Ultimately I'm trying to be as generic as possible with these models.

I think it looks great! and i agree about the ammo case... why should it be so dam dirty? When your in the marines EVERYTHING has to be clean. The saying "so neat you can bounce a quarter off of your bed", thats protocol.
