Hi. Ive just started working on a model to release to forum users. I have been modelling this for about an hour and a half so far but have now come across this problem. i tried to weld the legs to the groin/buttocks(gotta love how that sounds)but it seems to have created extra unessesary verticies ans i was wondering if there was an easy way to get rid of them?

thx guys

What program are you using? is it Gmax? anyway most 3D programs have an "optimize" that will remove unused points and weld close ones etc

sorry i forgot to put it in and i am under moderated posts so couldnt edit

3ds max 8 trial

Its just i have used max alot and optimize has really undesirable effect of triangulating models very wierdly.

Still ill try out some options and if i cant get it working i'll do it manually(aaaaargh)

Optimize was quite useless again so i just painstakingly removed each one by one. i couldnt delete them just by select and delete or faces would delete as well. Once i finish the model ill post a feedback/improvement thread for it

Ooh. How did you get there? Boolean?
Looks like max. If its is, there's a "remove isolated verts". Sorry, can't remember where, brain not in gear. Alternatively, convert to editable poly, select the verts and click remove. You could also manually do it, with weld target and snap to verts.

Also, probably easier to get rid of the other side of the model first, work on it and use the symmetry modifier to mirror and weld later.

you could use the optimize modifier since it isnt textured.

Halowed are the ori.
