Does anyone know of any good tutorials or can anyone provide example code for pixel / vertex shaders?

Specifically I am after lava, fire and water effects. I know that there are other ways but PVs look best.

Unfortunately most of the tutorials I have found so far assume a good knowledge of DirectX - which is annoying because I only use OpenGL outside of DarkBASIC.

Also, is it forseeable that somehow DBP could one day be able to use Cg shaders? I know that DBP could not compile them but could you compile them as DLL plugins for the engine?

If you find some tell me please, rob k!
because pixel and vertex shaders in dark basic, as well as md3 support, is a mistery for me right now. no info anywhere, no samples anywhere, nuthin.

Shader's are really an artform of thier own ... i've done a few demo's with these (yet nevet publically released cuase i never liked them much)

perhaps when i'm not quite as busy... and post Patch4 release because it'll free up my hands in the creation method of them, i might make a tutorial or two with them.
but anyone who understands what they are and how the asm language is structured shouldn't have a problem making them

so very easi

I really would welcome a tutorial or even a simple DBPro sample.

MD3 support isn't fully there until Patch 5.

"mistery" - mystery

There are definately problems with P&V shaders right now, but apparently P4 addresses that as well.

hmm... well it shouldn't be too hard to make one within Pro itself.

I take it your have either a GeForce3, GeForce4 Ti or GeForce FX right? (or Quadro version)
if you don't then i won't bother right now - but i could make something just to like do water like waves across something pretty easily. i'll finish up what i'm doing and start around midnight

I have a GeForce 3 Ti200. I have run the NVidia pixel & vertex shader demos with no probs and DBP certainly seems OK so yes.
