is there any way to use newXposition and newYposition to offset the camera to the rear-left of an object? When I tried using newX and newY, I could only get the obj to be centered on the screen.

thanks

sounds like you are doing the right thing but you're pointing the camera towards the object (then it'll always be in the centre of the screen), if you're not heres an example...

x#=newxvalue(x#,obj_x#,-3)
z#=newzvalue(z#,obj_z#,-3)
rotate camera obj_rot_x#,obj_rot_y#,obj_rot_z#

A bit vague but so was your question, post some code if that hasn't answered your question.
