Hi all, I recently tried to buy the model pack with an american pre-paid Gift card. My moneys gone but I can't get the product. My name (so it says) shouldn't match, when you finish the total you trash the card... Has this happen to anyone else?

Hmm... I'm not familiar with an "american pre-paid card", so I wouldn't exactly know how it works. Best thing to do would be contact TGC (Look under the post box) if you can find any proof that you used it.

Oh, and your sig's too high; the max is 160, I think, but it may be 120.

What is a pre-paid gift card? Does it work like a Visa card or something, but with a limit?

Yes. Here in the USA you can visit a retail chain such as Wal-Mart or such and purchase a "disposal" credit card. You pay for the card at the cash register which then "activates" the card. Then you can use the card anywhere VISA is accepted. The ONLY problem is that sometimes the AVS (Address Verification System) doesn't work. AVS usually checks the zipcode where the statement is sent. With the gift card, there is no address and therefore most orders placed online (which is called MOTO or Mail Order Telephone Order) will be rejected because they cannot verify the card.

Rett,
If the card balance was effected, then the transaction went through.
There should be a record for that date and time of the purchase attempt.
The problem maybe in the delivery, which TGC can correct easily.
If there is no match in the finacial records of them receiving your money at that time, then somethings afoul.
I think TGC can correct this for you though.

If that didn't work, then I would complain where the card was issued.
If it was intended to only be used at their stores then it should have stated that.
Some stores have a liberal return policy and would probably refund it back to your card for an instore purchase.
You would still not be able to get FPSC with the Gift Card, but at least you would get a refund.

Just don't purchase anything else with it. If it was from Wal-Mart and you have a bit of money still on the card, then they might be more inclined to help you out. It may be quite a headache to get this taken care of though.
