I'm going to be taking pictures of lockers, ceilings, floors, walls and what not for a school setting and i will post them so anyone can use them for textures. If you have any requests make them. I'll take some pics.

Texture Maker
use a digital camera

I suggest making sure the setting on the digital camera is set correctly to get the best image

plus take a few pictures
some close, further back, and even as a whole
If your making an object of a phone for example take a picture of the phone from numerous angles and of the specif colors you can use a simple program to cut out a peice of it and use it as a texure. So if you phone is blue and black you make sure you have a good picture of the phone that accurately depict it's color. Lighting has so much to do with it. Pictures of shiny objects need very good ambient light and no flash or angle it so you get light but not glare.

well i got in trouble for taking pictures inside this school so i'll have to sneek around later. This faculty woman got all weirded out and demanded i stopped. Well For the most part It's going to be harder than i thought getting textures from around the school. Once i get the software which will be very soon i will make some models but it won't be school related. Textures though should be ready in i hope two weeks. I'm not sure now when i'll have time take pictures the camera I have dies fast.

Haha, she probably thought you were getting pictures in preparation for a school shooting or whatever.

Why does your camera die?

Because no n00b is a good n00b.

yeah thats what i figured she was thinking because i read an artical 4 years ago how the columbine shooters found a DOOM remaniscent game replicating the the school on the students computers. Lol she burst out of an office. and approached me saying.
"what are you doing"
"obviously taking pictures"
"WHY!" she retorted
"For digital art and modeling" (heheh slight fib)
" oh for art class"
(heres where i should have lied) "no for personal use" (UGG like a kick in the face i just couldn't stop my self from the truth)

Owe well i just won't go to that part of the building. I wouldnt make a school anyway. But the textures i could totally use in an office building or some kind of public place like a bathroom, train station or something.

Quote: "Why does your camera die?"

Many reasons
1)It's one of those small compact digital camera's
2) It has those s***y eye viewing peices and the makers don't actually expect you to use it.
3)PLUS what you do see through the eye peice is only some of whats actually in the picture. Theres at least an added 1/8 of its size added around the edges. Therefore capturing what you won't and don't want gets hard.
4)The makers expect you use the little screen on it to take pictures which is a battery life sucking paramecium that should die (unfortunetaly they're not alive to kill...hmm i should make a game where you kill camera screens....or perhaps not)
5) the interface at which you change settings is slow and is very difficult. All the automatic zooming actually fights you so sometimes even though the shot is clear and good it won't take the picture. Prolonging the amount of time it takes to take one simple picture. thus draining battery
6) after every flash it freezes because the flash heats up really hot and uses TONs of the energy

All in All I hate digital cameras
the best camera's are Manual camera's with a digital integrade. meaning you work it just like a manual camera (which is suprisingly easy. most people think its so difficuly.. thats so wierd...) but it as digital memory so you don't use film. It would have a small screen for the purpose of veiwing and deleting unwanted photo's only. Camera's these days are all about the screen. it's truelly unnecissary.
ok thats all i have to say.
I'll give you a few pictures i did take. Some of them were just of objects in the school for modeling referneces.

oh hey by the way i was on sony.com/professional today looking for field sound recording equipment and found about 100 looping thematic tracks for sale nearlly all of them 59 USD. The first page is all 256 USD. So if your looking for sound tracks look no further. I couldnt find any samples though you'd probly have to contact them.

ok here are some pics of school and stuff at home I'll name each pic to identify what it is.

i just found this sweet program where i can take tons of photos of something and then load it into this program and it lines up all the images so i can make wide - tall - and panaorama pictures I'll do that for the lockers that means though i'll have to reshoot them.
please be patient, I'm very busy with lots of other things.
