i have just found the full version of version 1 fpsc on bittorrent freely available to download

it seems to me that a registered user has decided to share to the bittorrent community

i have find it really distressing that certain registered users can be so stupid its a big smack in the face to all us ea users

who want to keep this great piece of software legal

i mean only us dedicated registered user are going to get the updates we want and hopefully 1 day v2 thats if people buy fpsc and dont download from thiefs

it would be nice to see some sort of online registeration system to deterr the pirates

i ask people dont download off thiefs buy fpsc and support tgc

as a ea user i would be willing to pay extra for any additional updates exclusive to ea users

Well, urm, don't take this wrong, but try to download it, because it shouldn't work (a code only works once).

It is possible that the version posted has been stripped of any protection mechanism.

With BitTorrent, if you are downloading a file, you are also uploading it. So even if you own a legal copy of FPSC, by downloading it via BitTorrent you would also be uploading it to other users who don't own a legal copy. I am not a lawyer, but I imagine this would be considered the same type of offence as selling bootlegged copies at a car-boot sale.

Depending on the location of the tracker TGC has some power over this. I.e. report the tracker to the authoritys. Under EU and US law Bit Torrent Trackers are illegal if they store has information for Torrent's that contain copyrighted/patented software/audio/visual etc...

Of cause certain torrent site's have worked around this by movin their trackers to country's that are yet to pass a law against trackers or one's that promote trackers. Sweeden for one I believe is about to or have changed their law to stop trackers which forced one tracker to move location's.

As for FPSC on torrent's. It's only recently it's appeared and if TGC wished they could always attempt to download it via the torrent's and pull up the ip's that are sharing it (Most client's show peer/seed ips) which they could then use to report the affenders to the authority's. (Ip trace's etc would be needed but it would be down to TGC if they wanted to really stop it's spreading via torrents)
