machinima is the art of making movies out of game engines. Models may be changed, textures altered and map reconfigured but as long as its rendered in the game engine its still machinima.

Alot of people have been asking how to make cut-scenes in or for FPSC and so far most people have made do with fading between scren-shots and having some kind of text done in windows movie maker....

...until now.

I would lke to know if any of you fellow FPSC users would like to participate in some machinima tests. If all goes according to plan, the cut-scenes in my games will rich enriched by actual moving people.

I'm a director at heart and having directed films before so i shall be the "camera-man" (In speak marks because in the game i don't actually have a camera). Now i'm looking for actors.

The way it works is simple: I build the sets and levels and set up object, lights etc then build a multiplayer exe. the actors download the exe and we arrange a time to go online and go to the same server, mine. Then you act out your stuff while i record it using screen recorder gold. Everything my eyes can see is what you'll see on screen. Voice-overs will then be added on later

I have a few problems:
1) Is there a chat function in FPSC, it would be difficult to tell the actors what to do without it.
2) i've never actually been on a multiplayer FPSC map so i don't even know if multiplayer works, do you guys know?

You use "t" i think for speaking.

Hehehehe - This is what I was thinking of doing too.....

We were gonna use mobiles to co-ordinate the 'action' though.

Why? i'm stating a fact, i haven't seen a cut-scene without animated characters or objects yet.

I'm in the process of making the CG shots for the cut-scene. They won't be fantastic because the game will be free so there's no point making them high-quality. I'm also working out how i'm going do the maps for machinima. I'll keep you posted,
