I'm trying to change textures for the first time, and I went to the internet to find free ones. I changed them to TGA and then used them in FPSC. Take a look and give me your opinion! The texture size is 512x512.

As you mention it, I could make a pack with a bunch of them. Will think about it, and of course, will be FREE!

PS: another screen for you to see and give opinion!

Looks good, but I can see visible seams.

My quick tip of the day for making a texture seamless in Photoshop:

1. Apply an offset filter half the height and width of the texture, for example, if your texture is 512x512, apply an offset of 256 for both the width and height

2. Use the clone stamp and/or blur tools to blend the seams in the texture

3. Apply the offset filter once more using the same settings in the first step

4. Viola!! Save your brand new seamless texture!

I used photoshop,a demo, because I recently formatted and not yet downloaded GIMP, which I recommend!Just load the image, then edit, then resave as TGA. Easy as it can be.

You just have to edit the FPE file of a segment. As an example, for the ground, I made a copy of another ground segment and then opened the FPE file and changed the paths to the textures, and voila, a new one!

Another screenshot, this time with three new textures: the sand, the sandy building and the wood on the left. I'm still working on it, but give your opinion.

I've decided to make a * FREE * pack focusing on north african textures featuring:

- sand floor textures (hope someone will make irregular segments to add further realism;
- at least 2 or 3 types of palace floor with typical arab decoration;
- some wall furniture, like rugs or street name plaques.
- some wall textures, like the one that appears above.

Will post soon more images.

Well I don't have a release date, but soon!Do you think the textures have quality to be released as a payed pack? It's because I've seen other packs on sale here and most of them don't have the quality mine does; I was pointing to a price like 3,99 or 4,99. Of course this first pack will be * FREE *, as I promised.

You're gonna have to stick to free, because in your first post you mentioned this:

Quote: "I'm trying to change textures for the first time, and I went to the internet to find free ones"

So you really don't have the right to sell them as your own.

Yes, most of the textures are free,but are photos and stuff I find all over the internet - which are not ready-made textures - and I have all the edition work in photoshop to do and some of them are completely original work, so I don't really think there's a problem, since the material I use is royalty-free, and the textures I post here are really my work.

Here it is! Limpo Arts first Pack for FPSCreator. It has nine textures and you could use them in any way, as long as you give credit as expressed in the license agreement. The textures are in JPG format so you'll just have to change it to TGA and start using.Enjoy!

Nice work, I could get some use out of these.

Again, I would be careful about trying to sell stuff. Unless it is your own completely original work, then you can't really sell it just because you made it FPSC-ready.

For example, I can't sell the Psionic zombie that I made FPSC-ready. Even though I rigged it, added some custom animations, and someone else made a new skin for it, it is still someone else's original work even though it is freely available from the Psionic website, and I can't profit from that.

In your case (psionic zombie) the license agreement clearly states(from what I can tell from your statements) that you CAN'T sell it, but in my case it's different, because the source of my textures is a royalty free one, and I can only sell up to 50 textures distributed on the same pack with no fee whatsoever, according to their license agreement: so I'm not working on the dark, but thanks! Of course I'm planning on continue to make free packs like this, but I am considering making even higher quality ones, which I'm thinking on selling for the price I told before, because there's work involved on editing and making them FPSC ready;those who work with photo editing programs know, and you know it of course! But thanks for the concern!

I know it, no problem. By the way, I would be really happy to see the use that the community does from the textures I distributed!Please post images here when you've got some work done!
