The artist I'm working with asked me if I can support vertex colors. I honestly don't know what he is asking for. From what I understood, he will export the objects with colors defined withing the model.

Is there anyway I can work with this specification?

Thank you in advance.

A vertex is a point in 3d space. All the polygons(Triangular flat things) in a 3d model have 3 vertices. A vertex color is the color of that vertex, which is intropolated(blended) across the surface.

In short, if your using pro, sdk, or classic, you can support them .

ps:
vertice is plural of vertex //edit: this was confusing me when I started with 3d so I thought I will post this info.

And here is a screenie, showing you what the interpolating of vertex color results in:

Thank you

Smithy mate, I can't see a thing... wonder what happened there.

So, if an object has vertex colors and I "throw" it into the 3D world, it will simply work? That's it?

@Vlad

Hmm, I can see it
Well, here is the link:

(I did a quick google picture search and found this)

They used Red, Green and some kind of Blue for coloring the three vertex of the triangle.
