i see allout of realy good looking textures like on bonds models and i was wondering do most of you use a camera and go around taking snap shots of stuff like walls floors toilets and things and edit them in paint shop pro or something.

I can't speak for others, but I really like to work from photographs as a starting point. In many cases I just think it turns out looking better and more realistic.

Don't get me wrong, I have great respect for people who can make realstic looking textures from scratch. But for me, there's no substitute for the real thing.

I keep my digital camera in my pocket at all times in case I run into anything model-worthy.
