My game Packageman is finished now. But if you think it has to be improved i will do it. In the middle of screen you see the Framerate, at my comp it's 50, I hope it runs smoothly on your comp too. There are of course like in the original dots and monsters. The download link is: http://www.welpen.tmfweb.nl/Packageman.zip

worked fine on my machine, I like the idea of the game, pacman needs to move slightly faster than the ghost, power pills would be a good enhancement as LLX suggested.

Power pills? So you can eat the monsters? If that's the idea, I like it.
And you're right, now pacman moves as fast as the monsters and ít's better when he's faster.
@Xoid:
So you can go to the next level? I don't know why there is runtime error 6.
@Llx:
I know, it looks like the monsters are chasing you. But it's just random movement. The only AI is this. When the monster can go forward and backwards it goes forward. If he can only go back he does. And when there are choosings of going left and right he just random chooses. At first I wanted to make some real AI, but I saw the monsters are difficult enough with random movement.

Hey man this is really cool - kinda like being in a rotostak Its an original ide pulled off well, I love it

Its a bit too hard to avoid the badguy, pacman needs to be faster.

But other than that nice 1 m8 ppl will be hard pushed to get something more original and instantly playable as this

also sicne its a bith daunting to navigate try add in a HUD a sort of mini map so you can see where you are, think 2D pacman in 3d Package man....

and lets see for a true retro you need to count points not peleits and dotn forget the fruit, on in the case of the postal service a m90 sub machine gun

@LLX:
I'll try to add a minimap. Would you have to see the monsters too?
@Kangaroo2:
Thank you very much. I will make Pacman faster.

I understand that. But sometimes there are pipes above and beneath eachother. So how would you see this in a 2d map.

like i said play decent, you can call up a map of the explored 3d area and use you mouse to rotate it, make a 3d model of the levels and use like the number pad to rotate it

A map would be a great idea, not sure how it would work tho. Maybe just a radar to show the nearest pill and also how far away the badguy was, and in what direction

Certainly still the potential in it that i'd hoped when you first announced it but I am sorry to say I didn't enjoy playing the game.

The FPS view really doesn't work for this game. However, viewed from 3rd person looking at the map - in essence a bit like the original pacman, would work a treat.

Failing that, if you recall I had hoped the ground would be a good frame of reference for the player, but it's not worked out that way - perhaps if you lowever the map to be in amongst the trees and some hills then that would give the player the ability to remember where they are in the level - although this would be more work to do than just changeing the camera view.

Also there's a very long delay when you eat a pill that interferes with gameplay - I think that needs looking at.

Ran at a more than accepteable speed on my 2Ghz AMD 512mb RAM GeForce 2.

Keep at it - almost there

At my comp there's no delay when you eat a pill, maybe it's because there is the yum sound. Thank you that it still have potential, but you didn't enjoy, that's a pitty. Didn't you see the different camera modes? There are 4.

Ooops i'll try it again, that was my big gripe because I couldn't get on with the camera view.... That'll teach me to look harder before I brand something

The delay happens on my brothers computer too, there is a yum sound playing at that time.
