my model is like 59,000 polys so when i try to reduce the model in milkshape it frezes up. does any one know of a free poly reducer that could handel this?

hey thats a really cool program but how do you get it to reduce the polys? cause it looks like it only make a low poly look like a high poly but what i need it to do is actually decrease the amount of polys in the high poly model

You might wanna try gameSpace light, it's a free 3d package (with a poly reducer) however
there are a few limits, you can't save a model more then 650 poly
or 5000 poly scene and a few more I can't remember.

60K in milkshape ouch...

Probably would just be easier to build a new model than trying to reduce a 59K down to something manageable in DB

Yes build the new model and then use that nvidia program to make the normal map

can MS3D make normal maps, or you just gonna make a texture for normal maps a use MikeS's normal map converter?
